Volunteer with YHY at Second Harvest
March 4, 2026 | 6-8pm
With all that is going on around us, we can feel frustrated and helpless. Let’s channel those energies to helping food-insecure families locally. For this event, the Yellow House Yoga community will be sorting and packing food at Second Harvest’s Cypress Center in San Jose.
Last December, we raised more than $1,000 for Second Harvest at our Calm Before the Storm Class in Los Altos. Join us to build on that - see how the sausage gets made and help make it(!) at this impactful Bay Area organization.
Friends and family members, including children ages 12 and up are welcome!
Spring Equinox: Flow into the Light
March 20, 2026 | 6:30-8:30pm
Join us March 20 for a special 2-hour event honoring the Spring Equinox — when day and night stand in balance and the light begins to grow.
We'll begin with 60 minutes of slow-flow vinyasa to energize our bodies, followed by 30 minutes of restorative yoga to integrate and soften. Throughout the practice, we’ll be accompanied by the live, ambient music of The Song Gardeners, whose soundscapes create a deeply immersive and heart-opening experience.
We’ll close with tea and an uplifting music set — a chance to linger, connect, and welcome Spring together!
Many thanks to our host: GoShine Today Wellness Center, 370 Bridge Pkwy, #2, Redwood City.
Throughout the year, we host special classes honoring seasonal shifts, the moon’s cycle, or special holidays. We also teach series and workshops focused on specific themes, such as regions of the body or an aspect of yogic philosophy. See below for past events to get a sense of what we offer. Feel free to message us if you have a special request. We would love to create a tailored session for you and your friends!

Thanks to those who joined us for our New Year’s Community Cleanse! Based on the book, Clean by Alejandro Junger, our 21-day community cleanse removes all processed foods, sugar, alcohol, and caffeine products. The cleanse focuses on all the good stuff - fresh fruits and veggies, and light meats or fish (for flesh eaters). It’s so much more fun to do it in community! All are welcome. We supported the cleanse with a kick-off Zoom call, a WhatsApp group, two mid-cleanse Zoom calls, a yoga class, and a final celebration!
Love Letters
February 12, 2026 | 5:30-6:30pm
Thanks to those who joined us in person or by Zoom for our first Love Letters gathering!
Research shows that gratitude practices - such as gratitude letters and journaling - are associated with increased positive emotion and reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression.
We spent an hour at the Yellow House reflecting on and expressing gratitude and love for people who have impacted us. We began with a brief, settling meditation and devoted the rest of our time to writing. Stationery and pens were available. Folks just brought their grateful, thoughtful selves!

Discovering The Bhagavad Gita
Thank you for joining us for our two-part series on the Bhagavad-Gita! If you practice yoga or apply some of the principals of Ayurveda in your life, then you’ve already been exposed to Vedic knowledge. The Bhagavad-Gita is considered by many to be the essential teaching of the Veda.
Part I: April 6 | The Bhagavad Gita in Context - In this session, we learned about the Bhagavad-Gita in the context of Vedic literature.
Part II: May 4 | Essential Teachings of the Gita - In the second session, we dove deeper into the Bhagavad-Gita, exploring its teachings with an emphasis on sankhya, the understanding of the true nature of the Self.
